Tvm Standard Kit

Stock is hand-shaped about 75% with the barrel and ramrod channels cut.

Butt of the stock is shaped and the forearm is rounded on the bottom to a basic shape. The builder will finish the shape as desired.

Lock is inlet with the top/center lock bolt drilled and tapped. The builder will make final adjustments.

The trigger is inlet. The trigger bar is not inlet.

Breech plug is installed in the barrel. The breech and tang are inlet and the touch hole liner or drum is installed.

Dovetails for the front/rear sights are cut into the barrel. The sights are not installed

Placement of the tenons is marked on the barrel as a guide for the builder to install the tenons. The builder will also inlet the tenons into the stock and drill the pin holes.

Other parts purchased with the kit such as, butt plate, side plate, toe plate, nose cap, thimbles, and trigger guard must be installed by the customer.

he customer will also finish the wood and metal as desired.
This kit is available for our right and left hand customers in all our styles: Tennessee Basic or Poor Boy, Southern Basic or Poor Boy, Early Virginia, Late Lancaster, Iron Pennsylvania, Leman, Tulle, and Fowler.
The TN Basic, Southern Basic, Lancaster, Iron PA, and Leman kit includes:

Note:
The Early VA kit does not include a toe plate.
The TN and Southern Poor Boy kit does not include a side plate, nose cap, entry thimble, or toe plate. These can be added for the cost of the part - call for pricing.
The Fowler and Tulle kit does not include a toe plate or rear sight. These include flintlock, single trigger and octagon to round barrel.

We recommend any customer to purchase a copy of The Art of Building the Pennsylvania Longrifle if deciding to tackle a Kit.
Upgrades
You may also choose upgrades such as curly maple, walnut, cherry, an alternate lock, a swamped barrel, inlays, etc. for additional fees. Click on our price sheet for more details.
